Roman Reigns WWE Rumors: Feud With John Cena Could Benefit Both Superstars [POLL, VIDEO]

John Cena and Roman Reigns are two of the WWE's most polarizing figures, so putting them in a feud against each other isn't a bad idea.

The WWE hinted at such an occurrance at the end of Monday NIght RAW  this week. After the show went off the air, the "Cenation" and "Roman Empire" leaders stood face-to-face in the ring, hinting at a possible rivalry between the two down the line, according to WrestlingInc.

The showdown was short-lived, however, as the League of Nations came out and attacked the babyfaces before Reigns and Cena took control to send the crowd home happy. Though it was only a glimpse, a Cena vs. Reigns program would make a lot of sense.

It's possible the WWE was just gauging the fan reaction, but with Reigns and Cena both getting constant mixed reviews from the WWE Universe, having them feud could be something worth pursuing. Having fans pick a side between Cena and Reigns could be just what the company needs.

Cena has always split the WWE Universe, and the fans were very unkind to Reigns up until recently. Though he isn't all the way over with the audience, Reigns has taken strides to improve in the ring and his feud with Vince McMahon has drawn interest.

A lot has changed since Cena left the WWE in October as Seth Rollins got injured, eventually leading to the WWE crowning Reigns. The "Cenation" leader is still trying to tie Ric Flair's record of 16 World Championships, but now that he's back, there is a fellow babyface on top of the organiaztion.

A rivalry with Reigns could work for Cena because it would give him a fresh feud and could also lead to him tying Flair's record.

Cena vs. Reigns has great potential and since the WWE fans always boo the "Cenation" leader mercilessly, putting him against Reigns may be the one fool proof way to get the reigning WWE World Heavyweight Champion completely over with the WWE Universe.
