For years, the city of Los Angeles couldn't get its act together to put together a stadium proposal to lure an NFL team.
Now, it has two and it still might not get a team. At least not yet.

Members of the Los Angeles relocation committee, the stadium committee and the finance committee are scheduled to meet Wednesday in New York, CBS Sports is reporting, based on information from sources.
The meeting is in advance of a mandatory meeting of all 32 NFL owners in Houston on Jan. 12-13.

What seemed like a formality of the NFL returning to Los Angeles is turning into a complicated mess.
Neither the Carson, Calif., project, which involves the Raiders and Chargers moving together, nor the Hollywood Park plan involving the Rams currently has the required 24 votes need to approve a move, according to CBS Sports.
"However, as long reported, the Carson project is much, much closer, with probably around 18-20 votes," CBS Sports reported. "Rams owner Stan Kroenke has had enough votes to block, but that could change between now and an actual vote, with pressure mounting to get this situation resolved and a majority favoring the other project."
"Some owners would prefer just the Chargers go first, with perhaps another franchise later joining. And many would support getting the Rams and Chargers together (though it seems highly remote that could occur between now and mid-January)."
The progress of the St. Louis stadium project appears to have tipped the scales in favor of the Carson project. Kroenke, however, was the first to stake a claim in Los Angeles, and the Raiders have expressed a willingness to consider other options to L.A., as long as a viable stadium plan is involved.
The possibility of a Kroenke lawsuit if the NFL denies his relocation request looms as well.
That could mean bad news in the short term for Los Angeles as NFL owners may elect to wait on stocking Los Angeles until they can figure out how to get the Chargers and Rams in L.A. together, while making sure the Raiders are taken care of.
