TNA Wrestling News & Rumors: TNA Executive, Smashing Pumpkins Frontman Billy Corgan Will Show WWE How To Put On Real Divas Revolution

Billy Corgan and TNA may be getting set to show the WWE how women's wrestling is done.

The WWE announced its Divas Revolution in mid-2015 when it introduced Charlotte, Becky Lynch and Sasha Banks, and given what these ladies were capable of doing at NXT, it appeared the face of the Divas division would change.

While there have been some improvements, the WWE clustered all of its ladies in groups in the early stages of the movement, falling into the normal traps the booking team usually does. Announcing a revolution instead of letting one grow organically may not be the right way to go, but Corgan, a TNA executive and frontman for the Smashing Pumpkins, is following in the WWE's footsteps.

Though, if his declarations are to be taken seriously, Corgan likely has plans to upstage the WWE and its "Divas Revolution."

"I think there's a whole host of ways to portray women in wrestling in the future that sort of gets away from the typical misogynist stuff," Corgan told TMZ. "I think [Ronda Rousey] embodies everything that's about smart, sexy and tough, I think that's shown to be a huge marketable asset."

It's a great time for women's wrestling and while the WWE has taken strives with its Divas by adding bigger storylines, it still hasn't quite lived up to the legacy the ladies are carving out in NXT. Banks put on easily two Match of the Year candidates with Charlotte in NXT during 2015, but thus far has been pretty marginalized by the creative team on the main roster.

Corgan has a chance to show the WWE how it's done by changing the landscape of women's wrestling and giving the Knockouts a bigger platform to thrive.

With Gail Kim on top of the division as the reigning Knockouts Champion, TNA is already in good shape. If Corgan follows through on his plans, it can be in even better condition.

TNA will likely never compete with the WWE when it comes to being the No. 1 wrestling promotion in the world, but it could potentially boast a better women's division.
