Peyton Manning Rumors: Broncos QB Becoming NFL Bad Boy As Career May Be Ending [VIDEO]

One of the last names to come up in a conversation about NFL bad boy -- especially with Cam Newton's Super Bowl and post-Super Bowl efforts -- would be his Super Bowl 50 counterpart.

But Peyton Manning has become a rebel.

Only Way For Peyton Manning To Clear Name For HGH Is To Reveal Wife's Condition

Manning's unsolicited endorsement of Budweiser during his postgame comments not only broke NFL rules but also Federal Trade Commission rules, according to mashable.com.

"Manning's glee was strange for a few reasons," mashable.com reported. "The first is that since 2008, NFL players are not allowed to endorse alcohol, according to a rule imposed by chief Roger Goodell. Specifically, the NFL bans player endorsements of 'companies that promote alcoholic beverages when the target audience of the event, program or facility is under the legal drinking age.'

"Second, Manning thumbed his nose at the Federal Trade Commission, which has its own rules about how celebrity endorsements should work."

Al Jazeera Denies Implicating Peyton Manning In HGH Story

Manning has a part ownernship stake in two Anheuser-Busch InBev (Budweiser's parent company) distributors, and the FTC has rigid standards in regards to celebrities endorsements without deceiving consumers. The FTC's rule dictates that any spokesperson endorsing a product before a big audience like the Super Bowl must disclose any type of business interest they have in that product's sales.

"If a celebrity has a financial interest in the sales of the products, I think it's very likely that the FTC would say that's a fact that requires disclosure," Greenbaum said.

Mashable went on to say that Manning is unlikely to face any kind of trouble. But the incident represents his second brush with rules-bending accusations.

Last month, Manning was linked to human growth hormone in an Al Jazeera story saying that shipments were being sent to his wife about the time of his neck surgery that forced him to miss the 2012 season. Speculation began that the HGH really was for Manning. He denied involvement but did hire investigators to talk to Charlie Sly, the source of the information against the Mannings.
