Apparently, Colin Kaepernick wants to leave the San Francisco 49ers. Apparently the Los Angeles Rams need a quarterback.

Cowboys Hall of Fame RB Emmitt Smith Criticizes Colin Kaepernick's Communication Skills

Not so much, according to SI Fansided's ramblinfan.com.

"At first glance signing or trading for Kaepernick sounds all fine and dandy," ramblinfan.com reports. "After all, Kaepernick has been a dynamic dual-threat quarterback with a proven track record of playoff success playing the exact type of football that the Rams play.

Colin Kaepernick's Second Offseason Snub Results In Declining Popularity

"Say the Rams and Kaepernick were able to come to terms on a decent contract. Still, it's a situation that the team should stay away fro0m. In spite of his past success, Kaepernick has recently been ineffective (with his play. NFL defenses have figured him out."

However, he could be the one player that can save Jeff Fisher's job.

Speculation has arisen that the only reason Rams owner didn't fire the coach after his fourth straight losing season with the team is that Fisher oversaw the Houston Oilers' move to Tennessee in 1997. Fisher then led the Titans to their only Super Bowl appearance during the 1999 season.

Fisher is 27-36-1 in his four years with the Rams. He likely won't survive a fifth with another losing record now that the team is looking to make a splash in Los Angeles.

If the Rams look for a quarterback in the draft to be their starter in 2016, chances are he won't yet be ready to guide the team to a playoff appearance.

For all his struggles, Kaepernick does have a Super Bowl appearance under his belt. And he could be the healthiest he's been since entering the NFL after missing the last half of 2015 to repair an injured left shoulder and take care of all the other maladies he's suffered.

He's played with a rod in his lower left leg his entire career, and he also had right thumb and left knee injuries last season, according to the San Jose Mercury News.

In L.A., Kaepernick would have promising running back Todd Gurley, and the team could focus on adding a wide receiver weapon.

If Kaepernick doesn't work out, Fisher likely is out and another coach would implement another offense. A rookie trying to navigate that situation almost would be starting from scratch with the new coach, anyway.

And if the Rams could figure out a way to rekindle Kaepernick's magic, with the defense they have, challenging for a deep playoff run would not be out of the question.

What a way to rekindle professional football interest in Southern California.
