Lana may have a lot of pressure on her in her in-ring debut.
The "Ravishing Russian" has been at odds with Brie Bella on WWE television recently, and it appears as though they are headed for a match. The blonde bombshell has yet to set foot in the WWE ring as an active competitor, but she will shortly.
Rusev's manager has been training at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando lately and the expectation is she'll battle Bella at WrestleMania 32 on April 3, according to PWInsider.
If the report proves to be accurate, which it appears to be, that is putting a world of pressure on the shoulders of the blonde beauty. Having Lana wrestle her very first match in front of a crowd that is expected to reach 84,000 fans at AT&T Stadium in Texas is quite the risk.
It's possible the WWE will have the "Ravishing Russian" enter the ring in the weeks prior to WrestleMania, but trusting her with a singles match on the grandest stage of them all seems like a perilous possibility.
Lana could very well thrive, but the WWE would probably be better off putting other Divas in the match as a safety net for her.
This will likely be Bella's final WrestleMania match as she stated after her husband Daniel Bryan was forced to retire due to concussions that she wanted to start a family soon. It's likely the WWE Universe will see the last of Brie Mode come this summer.
There have been plenty of rumors going around that Lana has drawn the ire of WWE officials on multiple occasions. The first round of heat was said to be on her in October when word leaked out that she got engaged to real-life boyfriend Rusev.
The incident was followed up with a real-life Twitter war with Paige, which eventually was cleared up.
Lana was then portrayed as unfaithful to Rusev on WWE television with Ryback intimating she went "all the way" with Dolph Ziggler during their storyline, and The Rock flat-out saying he had a physical relationship with Lana when he appeared on "RAW" in January.
Nevertheless, it seems Lana will still get her big match at WrestleMania. The pressure is on.
