NFL Free Agents Rumors: Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns Interested in RG3 [VIDEO]

Robert Griffin III did not play a single game for the Washington Redskins last season, but the free-agent quarterback is getting a lot of attention on the market, as reports revealed the Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns are interested in acquiring the 26-year-old.

The Broncos are in an unfamiliar territory as they found themselves with a gaping hole in the roster after future Hall of Famer Peyton Manning announced his retirement and former backup quarterback Brock Osweiler signed a four-year deal with the Houston Texans.

Denver acquired Mark Sanchez in a trade with the Philadelphia Eagles earlier in the offseason, but it remains to be seen whether or not the Broncos will give him the starting role.

The defending Super Bowl champions are still searching for another quarterback and Broncos coach Gary Kubiak admitted that they are looking at the possibility of signing Griffin. Kubiak told ESPN that RG3 could still bounce back from a disastrous year, saying that the former Baylor standout has the tools to succeed again in the league.

"He's very athletic, moves around, another player who's played in some big games," Kubiak said of Griffin. "Obviously he hasn't played much in the last year and a half, but he's still young, very young kid, all those things he's got working for him. I'm sure he's looking for the best possible opportunity for himself."

However, the Broncos are not the only team who expressed strong interest in acquiring RG3. The Browns and Griffin sat down on Saturday about a possible deal, the Akron Beacon Journal reported.

While the two parties did not strike an agreement during the weekend, Browns coach Hue Jackson hinted that RG3 is still an option for Cleveland. Like Kubiak, Jackson is also convinced that RG3 could still make an impact in the league if given the right opportunity.

"This past year he didn't play. But I think he learned a lot," Jackson said via Sports Illustrated. "I think he humbled himself a little bit. He knows that he's got a lot of work to do ahead of him to get himself back to where he was, but I think he's willing to do the work."

The Browns are also looking to acquire a QB after parting ways with former first-round pick Johnny Manziel. Recent reports also indicated that they are considering using their picks to select a quarterback in the 2016 NFL Draft.
