Adrian Peterson Son Dies: Joseph Robert Patterson, Man Charged With Killing Two-Year-Old, Released On Bond [VIDEO]

The man charged with Killing Adrian Peterson's two-year-old son has been released from jail on bail, according to TMZ.

Joseph Robert Patterson, 27, walked out of South Dakota's Minnehanna County jail early Tuesday after posting $750,000 bond. The bond was reduced from $1 million after Patterson pled not guilty to second degree murder charges and two counts of first-degree manslaughter, as aggravated battery of an infant.

Patterson, who was dating the boys' mom, was charged earlier this month with attacking Tyrese Robert Ruffin in his home, where he had been entrusted with watching over him while his mother was away.

Though he attended the service, Peterson also chose to play during the week his son was buried, later telling reporters it was part of how he was trying to cope with the tragedy.

"I'm standing strong, man," Peterson told reporters. "I am. My main focus has been on my son and their family down there in Sioux Falls. Just trying to wrap my head around things and trying to stay focused and play ball as well."

Peterson, 28, has been forced to deal with tragedy since he was a young child. When he was just seven, his teenage brother was struck and killed by a drunken driver and in 2007 another brother was shot and killed in Houston the night before the league's reigning MVP was to take part part in the NFL combine.
