Paul George's Superstar Status Rises: Indiana Pacers Forward Purchases All Tickets to Alma Mater Fresno State Basketball Home Opener To Give Away

Either Indiana Pacers forward Paul George is one of the best alumni ever or the Fresno State Bulldog Foundation did a remarkable sales job. Or both.

The Fresno Business Journal reported that George, an NBA All-Star who signed a five-year extension with the Pacers worth $80-$90 million during the offseason, has purchased every ticket to the Fresno State men's basketball season opener on Nov. 16 against Cal State Northridge and will give away all the tickets.

According to The Fresno Business Journal, Jennifer Jory, the Bulldog Foundation director of development, confirmed the gesture from the Palmdale, Calif., native through Twitter earlier this week.

"@Paul_George24 bought all the tickets to Fresno State Men's Basketball game on Nov. 16! Thank Paul & pick up your FREE ticket! Thanks PG!" Jory tweeted.

Fresno State's arena, the Save Mart Center, holds 15,596. The Business Journal added that season-ticket holders still will retain their seats for the opener.

According to the article, fans must print off a voucher at https://imgur.com/8fxYsZm, then redeem those vouchers at the Save Mart Center ticket office. Vouchers are available immediately and are redeemable for one ticket each.

According to a blog from IndyStar.com, adult tickets at Fresno State basketball games start at $17. The blog estimated that George spent $265,132 for the game, based on that $17 ticket, but again, that is the starting price to go to a Bulldogs game.

George scored the first basket of the NBA season Tuesday night during the Pacers' 97-87 win over the Orlando Magic at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis. He finished with a game-high 24 points.

It's a good thing George isn't a Boston Red Sox fan. The same gesture might've been able to buy two tickets and one beer to Game 6 of the World Series between the Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals at Fenway Park.
