In October, doctors weren't sure if Lamar Odom would live to see another day. Here in April, he's eyeing a return to the NBA.

To say the former NBA star has made huge strides since suffering his near-fatal overdose at a Nevada brothel would be a gross understatement. Odom isn't content with just getting back to full health, he's looking to make one of the biggest comebacks in history.

Odom has made no secret of the fact he yearns for a return to the NBA and he may just get a chance to shine on the court as a way to tune-up for such a comeback. Baron Davis is offering an olive branch to Odom as a way to get him back into the swing of things in hopes of eventually helping him to fulfill his dream of making a comeback.

The former NBA star is involved in the Drew League in California, a forum in which NBA players compete during the offseason to stay in shape. Such names as the recently-retired Kobe Bryan, LeBron James and Kevin Durant have played in the league to keep their skills sharp during the offseason.

Davis invited Odom to join him in the league as a way to hone his skills as he attempts to mount an unbelievable return to the NBA.

"I'm going to reach out to LO to see if he would want to play alongside me on my team since he is wanting to return," Davis said, according to TMZ Sports.

Odom could use a distraction, especially from his up-and-down romance with Khloe Kardashian, so joining up with Davis could be good for him this offseason.

"I've never been better," Odom told Entertainment Tonight last week about his health while watching former teammate Kobe Bryant play in his final game. "[I want to] get back on the court. I still got it. I can [still play]."

The 6-foot-10 former forward hasn't played in the NBA since the 2012-13 season, but he's shown with is recovery that anything is possible. Odom has had stops with the Lakers, Clippers, Heat and Mavericks in his career.

Odom, 36, is a two-time NBA champion and the 2011 Sixth Man of the Year, and averaged 13.3 points per game in his career.
