In one of the most out of the blue zingers to date, the actress and singer took aim at the Yankees captain for his upcoming marriage to model Hannah Davis. Jeter has dated a laundry list of beautiful women throughout the years, but after retiring from the field he's decided to settle down with Davis.
In a random tweet on Memorial Day, Midler insinuated that Jeter will be cheating on the swimsuit model when they tie the knot.
"Derek Jeter is finally settling down & getting married," Davis tweeted on Monday. "That's probably gonna cut back on his dating, though."
Ouch. It was a random burn, but a burn nonetheless.
Davis and Jeter got engaged in October and recently revealed they will tie the knot in July.
Jeter was known as a laid back guy during his playing days and Davis is probably the most lax bride-to-be ever, so it will likely be a laid back ceremony.
"I'm chill," Davis told Health.com about her attitude being a bride in March. "I just want it to be a fun day, not all the fuss. I don't want to go overboard -- it's not about the place settings. I won't get stressed-out about that, 'cause I could just care less."
Davis has previously stated she wasn't looking for a huge wedding and was actively rooting for people not to show up. Much like Jeter's championship-caliber love life during his playing days, the model likes to keep her current relationship with the five-time World Series champion low-key.
"I feel like I have to share every other part of my life," Davis said in the March issue of Maxim Magazine. "It's that one part that's a little bit of a mystery to people, but that's the way we want it. The only way to protect it is not to talk about it."
Jeter dated a who's who of beautiful women, which is likely what led to Midler's dig at him.
