WWE Draft & Brand Split 2016: 5 Pay-Per-View Events The WWE Should Bring Back [POLL, VIDEO]

The WWE brand extension will bring many changes along with it.

Not only will the rosters be split back into separate "RAW" and "SmackDown" brands, but the company will also reportedly be bringing in an increase in pay-per-view events and WWE Network specials -- which includes shows that will air exclusively on the WWE Network and not on pay-per-view.

The WWE Draft will take place on July 19 and usher in the New Era for the company, but the brand-only events likely won't begin until September since Battleground is just five days after the Draft and SummerSlam is a Big Four spectacle, meaning both rosters will be on it.

Here are five events the WWE should bring back once the brands split.

1) King of the Ring

The King of the Ring tournament has been a stepping stone for a who's who of WWE Superstars who were midcarders, but rose to stardom shortly after winning the bracket. Guys like "Stone Cold" Steve Austin, Bret Hart, Triple H and countless others soared to the top after earning the crown.

The WWE is missing the boat on this event by not treating it like the NCAA does with March Madness or the NHL does with its Stanley Cup playoffs. The company could easily design a bracket contest online and give out prizes to the winners, while the KOTR could serve as a platform for one of the brands, with the winner getting a title shot.

They could also find a solid way to make seeds for the tournament to make it feel more legitimate, possibly by putting the eight participants in a battle royal leading up to the event.

2) Bash at the Beach

WCW didn't get much right, but in the heart of the summer, this outdoor event on a beach was certainly notable. It was also the setting for one of the most memorable moments in wrestling history as Hulk Hogan turned heel at the 1996 event and joined the nWo. This would be a fun event for the WWE to bring back and it would place its stars in a different backdrop than an average arena.

3) Cyber Sunday

Giving the fans control for one night of the year would be another good blast from the past. The WWE is obsessed with the Internet, as evidenced by Michael Cole constantly barking about things trending on Twitter. Since the company likes to get its fans involved in the action, what better way than to set up a voting system exclusively at WWE.com, which would in turn drive traffic for the website?

4) Halloween Havoc

Given the WWE's PG audience, having some fun with Halloween could be a good idea going forward. Halloween Havoc was always a fun event in the days of WCW, so dusting off the old tradition for one of the brands could be a good idea.

5) Elimination Chamber

Now that there will likely be two World Champions going forward for the WWE, it could necessitate the need to bring the Chamber stipulation back in February. The winner of the Royal Rumble Match will have the chance to decide which World Champion he wants to clash with, meaning the other brand will have to find a way to determine the No. 1 contender to their brand's champion. The Chamber match could fill that void.

Which old event would you most like to see the WWE bring back?
