Things are about to change forever in the WWE as "SmackDown Live" emanates from the DCU Center in Worcester, Mass.
The company will present the WWE Draft, ushering in the brand extension all over again. "RAW" commissioner Stephanie McMahon and her general manager Mick Foley will have the first overall pick, while "SmackDown" commissioner Shane McMahon and his GM, Daniel Bryan, will select second.
For every two selections that the Blue Brand gets, the WWE's flagship show will net three draft picks. This is because "SmackDown" will be a two-hour show, and "RAW" will be three. There are sure to be plenty of surprises as six selections will come from NXT and there may even be some old faces returning.
Aside from the Draft, there is sure to be plenty of action. After the controversial finish to their match on "RAW," Dean Ambrose will once again defend the WWE Championship against Seth Rollins on "SmackDown." Both men will be involved in a Triple Threat Match with Roman Reigns, who will return from a 30-day suspension, at Battleground this Sunday.
There are several matches throughout the title pictures for the WWE at Battleground this Sunday at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. Rusev is set to defend the United States Championship against Zack Ryder, while The Miz will put his Intercontinental Championship on the line against Darren Young.
In the tag division, The New Day is preparing for a six-man tag team non-title match against The Wyatt Family. As for the women's division, Becky Lynch and Natalya are on a collision course for Battleground, while Sasha Banks will select a mystery partner to take on Women's Champion Charlotte and Dana Brooke in tag team action.
Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn will also be involved in the final buildup to their match. John Cena, meanwhile, will look to get on the same page with Enzo Amore and Big Cass headed into their six-man tag match with The Club at Battleground.
