Nikki Bella Return WWE Rumors: Superstar To Know Fate Of Comeback After MRI [PHOTO, VIDEO]

Nikki Bella is taking the next big step in her hopes for a potential return to the squared circle.

The longest-reigning Divas Champion in WWE history has been sidelined since October with a neck injury and went under the knife to repair it in January. Shortly after the procedure, she expressed hope in returning sometime this summer, but thus far she hasn't been able to set a timetable for her comeback.

Still, things could be looking up for the WWE Superstar.

Bella took to Twitter on Tuesday and noted she is about to discover her "destiny." The former champion has an MRI scheduled this week and afterward she will have a better idea of when she can return to action.

It'll be a different WWE that Bella returns to as the company just completed its WWE Draft, leading into a brand extension with separate "RAW" and "SmackDown" rosters. The flagship show is run by commissioner Stephanie McMahon and general manager Mick Foley, while Shane McMahon presides over "SmackDown Live" as its commissioner and has tabbed Bella's' brother-in-law Daniel Bryan as GM.

As of this moment, it's unclear how the WWE plans to insert its injured Superstars into the brand split as Bella is one of several sidelined stars who were ineligible for the Draft. Bella's real-life boyfriend, John Cena, ended up on the Blue Brand, so she'll likely prefer to land there.

Women's Champion Charlotte, who dethroned Bella back in September, ended up on "RAW," but with the WWE having several women get drafted to "SmackDown Live," a new title is likely coming.

Bella isn't guaranteed to end up on the same show as Cena, especially since Alberto Del Rio (SmackDown Live) and his real-life girlfriend Paige (RAW) ended up on different shows.

Cena and Bella would likely love to be on the same show since they've been a couple for nearly four years, though wedding bells may not be in the near future.

"I just have things I need to get done," Cena recently told Rolling Stone in May.. "It's not negotiable. We've been to therapy over it. I don't think it will ever be over with. I'm stubborn as f--k and extremely selfish as well. I don't want kids, I don't want marriage. That's me just saying, 'Hey, this is my life and this is how I'm going to live.'"
