Russell Wilson inspires millions on the gridiron, but he shared that Ciara is his true inspiration.
The Seahawks quarterback married the R&B singer earlier this month and officially adopted a role of stepfather to her son, 2-year-old Baby Future, whom she had with her former fiancee, rapper Future.
Wilson spoke openly and gushed about Ciara recently at a public event as he spoke for the first time publicly since tying the knot with the "Dance Like We're Making Love" singer.
"[Ciara] has been an inspiration since day one, and her little one, too, just watching him. You know, it's interesting," Wilson said in a video that was captured on Instagram. "I was saying to somebody the other day-this is a little bit personal, but I think it's important-but, you know, I was saying to somebody the other day that being a stepfather is one of the most loving things you can do.
"You know, you really, really learn how to love love. Because especially when it's not yours, you know, you realize that every kid matters in this world. You know, every person matters. Every child matters. Every heart matters. Every soul matters. Every mind matters. And that's why we're here honestly, just for situations like that. That's what I think about. When I see her little son every time I'm around her and when I'm not around her, I always think about them, too, so they're an inspiration."
Earlier this month, Wilson and Ciara got married at the Peckforton Castle in England in front of about 100 of their friends and family. The nuptials were kept very private and cell phones weren't even allowed.
Wilson and Ciara are no strangers to the public eye as they constantly shine in the spotlight together. The Seahawks quarterback and "I Bet" singer also made a very public vow of celibacy prior to becoming a married couple. Now that the wedding is official, they made sure togo public about their sex life after being able to consummate their marriage.
The former Super Bowl champion's comments about Baby Future likely won't sit well with the kid's father.
Future Sr. doesn't agree with Wilson having a great relationship with Baby Future, so his comments likely will draw the ire of the rapper.
Ciara and Future have been involved in a legal battle and the singer revealed in court documents she believes Future is hinting at murdering her new husband.
Ciara and Future have a sordid history and the singer was very angry after the rapper called her career washed up and insulted her parenting skills, which led to her suing him for defamation.
The problems between the parties grew so large that Ciara recently filed to gain sole custody over the 2-year-old, but it was denied by a judge in court back in May.
Regardless of how ugly the situation is, Wilson doesn't seem to shy away from publicly talking about his relationship with Ciara and her son.
