Johnny Manziel should get a chance to resurrect his NFL career in Dallas, one legend believes.
The former Browns quarterback is looking to make a comeback to the NFL and to straighten out his life. Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has always been excited by the signal caller, but has stayed away from him amid his legal and personal drama.
NFL legend Dan Reeves, who won a record nine Super Bowls as a player and a coach, endorsed the Cowboys bringing Manziel into the fold.
"I'd love to see him get that opportunity," Reeves told TMZ Sports.
The Browns cut Manziel back in March due to his party boy ways, but Reeves feels that if Johnny Football would focus on the game rather than the party scene, he could be a good fit in Dallas -- or anywhere else.
"No question, I think he would be good for anybody," Reeves said. "He's still gotta learn to walk the walk and talk the talk ... but if he can play like he did in college, I don't see how that would be a bad addition to the team.
"He needs to get his life in order before he thinks about football and he's had a lot of things going on that have taken his mind from the game ... but if he puts all that behind him and has someone to mentor him, I'd love to see him get that chance."
Jones has always been quite taken with the former Heisman Trophy winner, who was selected with the No. 22 overall pick of the 2014 NFL Draft by Cleveland, but didn't make it beyond the 2015 season due to his troublesome ways.
"I have the same impression that when he came out of A&M of what his potential is as a football player," Jones told Peter King of Sports Illustrated back in May. "I haven't changed my opinion of how exciting of a player that he is, how unique a player that he is."
Manziel, 23, has has had plenty of issues avoiding the party scene and was also recently indicted by a Dallas jury for a domestic violence incident against his ex-girlfriend, Colleen Crowley.
The blonde model claimed that Manziel allegedly hit her so hard that she lost the hearing in her left ear temporarily.
The former quarterback was also recently sued for allegedly causing $32,000 worth of damage to a home he and his party pals rented for a two-day alcohol and drug-fueled binge in Los Angeles. On top of his incidents, Manziel has been involved in at least two vehicular accidents as well this offseason.
Manziel has been adamant that he plans on staying sober to pursue a return to the NFL. He was seen out at a club this past weekend, but reportedly wasn't drinking and served as a driver.
Perhaps Manziel will one day get a second chance spelling Tony Romo on the Cowboys.
