Tonight at 7:30 p.m. ET, No.10 Oklahoma (7-1, 4-1 Big 12) and No.6 Baylor (7-0, 4-0 Big 12) go head-to-head live from Floyd Casey Stadium in Texas. The game can be live streamed here. Baylor leads the nation with their fast paced offense by averaging 63.9 points and 718.4 total yards per game and has been outscoring opponents by a median margin of 48 points. The team enters a highly anticipated matchup against Oklahoma and its revamped defense.
Baylor is the only undefeated team in the Big 12 and has its highest ranking in six years.
"I certainly think that people view us as a legitimate threat," Baylor coach Art Briles said per ESPN. "Whether we're viewed as the perennial program that this is one that you better watch out for all the time, I don't know. Time will tell on that. But I do think now that we've earned enough respect where when people look at us, they're thinking that's a tough out."
The Bears have a school-record 11-game winning streak, but still have to play some of the teams in the top half of the league standings, so Baylor is in no rush to crown themselves BCS Champions just yet.
"From a realistic standpoint, we just feel like this season is just getting started," Briles said via ESPN. "I know we've played seven games, but we're ready and willing and anxious to get into the grind time, get into where we're fighting and scraping for every single thing that's out there, and that's the way we've always approached the game."
The Sooners, meanwhile, rank 10th in the FBS in total defense and have allowed just 314.3 yards per game. Oklahoma got a taste of a high-powered offense in its last game--a 38-30 victory over Texas Tech on Oct. 26. Oklahoma is 21-1 all-time against Baylor.
Baylor's Bryce Petty is fourth nationally with 350.4 passing yards per game and is 123-for-177 (69.9%) for 2,463 yards with 18 touchdowns and one interception. Bears running back Lache Seastrunk has rushed for 864 yards on 96 carries and has recorded 11 touchdowns this season.
Oklahoma coach Bob Stoops knows his team only has so many options it can use in trying to slow down Baylor's explosive offense.
"You can only do so much, in that ... when they line two guys up all the way out there," he told ESPN, pointing one way, "and all the way out there," pointing the other way, "you've got to go out and cover them, so there's only so many left."
It'll be a big game for both as Baylor looks to remain undefeated and Oklahoma looks to go 22-1 all-time against the Bears tonight.
