CM Punk's UFC debut comes with the hype that most inexperienced fighters don't receive.

Camera crews have followed the former WWE Superstar around to film a documentary, "UFC Presents: Evolution of Punk," which will be a four-part series and will air each Monday night at 9:30 p.m. ET starting Aug. 15 on FS1.

The film shows Punk training and getting ready in the lead up to his highly-anticipated fight with Mickey Gall, which will take place on Sept. 10 at UFC 203 at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland.

A new trailer has been released for the documentary (see below), and part of it shows his wife, former WWE Superstar AJ Lee, while stills of him competing in the WWE are also utilized.

Punk walked out on the WWE back in January 2014 amid his myriad frustrations with the company. He then signed with UFC that December, but had several setbacks prior to his debut, which most recently includes undergoing back surgery.

Lee remained with the WWE after Punk departed, but she retired in April 2015 after her husband blasted the WWE on a podcast -- including the company's doctor, Chris Amann -- leaing to the physician suing him for defamation. Amid the controversy, Lee opted to hang up her wrestling boots.

Punk now turns his attention to Gall, who is 2-0 in the UFC and has a lot of fighting experience. Punk is making his debut nearly two years after signing with the company and though he lacks the experience of his opponent, he has no shortage of confidence entering the bout.

"Body weight, height, reach, everything like [that], I think we're almost identical. Experience goes to him," Punk said on the 'UFC Unfiltered' podcast in June, according to WrestlingInc. "He [has] fought in the Octagon and other places and I haven't. He's a nice guy. I talked to him very briefly at his debut and I felt bad about that setback and he [has] been kind of sitting on the sidelines, but here we are now. I think he's a tough kid, but also his fights have been pretty short. You don't really get to see all of his skills."
