Jonathan Martin News: Attorney David Cornwell Dolphins Teammates Threatened To 'Run A Train' On Martin's Sister [VIDEO]

Jonathan Martin's attorney David Cornwell has alleged his client was tormented by teammates threatening "to run a train" on his sister.

Cornwell issued a statement Thursday night in which he defended Martin against criticisms made by some teammates questioning his toughness by arguing "Jonathan Martin's toughness is not at issue. Jonathan has started every game with the Miami Dolphins since he was drafted in 2012. At Stanford, he was the anchor for Jim Harbaugh's 'smash mouth' brand of football and he protected Andrew Luck's blind side."

Martin, 24, remains in seclusion amid revelations he was specifically targeted for persistent hazing by suspended teammate Richie Incognito. Reports have emerged that Incognito zeroed in on Martin after being told by coaches to "toughen him up."

Cornwell also asserted in his statement, that Martin, the son of Harvard-educated parents, did all he could think of to make things better with his teammates, including attempting to "befriend" as many of them as he could.

"This is textbook reactions of victims of bullying," Cornwell added. "Despite these efforts, the taunting continued. Beyond the well-publicized voice mail with its racial epithet, Jonathan endured a malicious physical attack on him by a teammate. These facts are not in dispute."
