WWE 'Total Bellas' News: Daniel Bryan Discusses 'Hard' Filming Of Reality Show, Defends John Cena [VIDEO]

Shortly after making the difficult decision to retire from professional wrestling, Daniel Bryan was thrust into a tough spot.

"The Beard" moved out of his home with his wife Brie Bella to temporarily live with fellow WWE personalities John Cena and Nikki Bella as part of the "Total Bellas" reality show.

The new show, which is a spinoff of "Total Divas," will air starting on Oct. 5 on the E! Network. Bryan revealed in February that he had to retire from the squared circle due to a bout with concussions and when talking about the show, he said the filming was difficult because it came shortly after that announcement.

"Total Divas helped me become comfortable in front of the cameras because the cameras are there all the time," Bryan told IGN. "So it's this non-stop barrage. And also, I think it's really helped me with things like [post 'SmackDown' show] 'Talking Smack' because sometimes with Total Divas, the cameras are there so much that you just say things to entertain yourself. And I really have to stop doing it. [laughs] Because it can be taken out of context and they can edit it however they want and put it anywhere.

"But you get comfortable enough that you do and say these wacky things just to entertain yourself. But yeah, the 'Total Bellas' stuff was really weird and really hard. Because that was a hard place in my life. I mean, it was only a couple of months ago, but it was right on the heels of my retirement. But then all of a sudden we're going to Florida and we're going to live in this house that's not our house"

Bryan also spoke about Cena, who appeared to have tough ground rules in the teaser for the show.

"And John does have these rules, right?" he said. "I'd say John is very regimented. I've seen the trailers too and it makes it all seem crazy, but it's not. He's just very regimented. He likes his house clean and that sort of thing. We all know people like that, it's not crazy. But they can cut it certain ways and put music behind it and then get my facial reactions where I'm like 'Oh no.'"

in the latest clip for the video, Cena lays down the law to his new housemates.

"These are the house rules, it's very simple," Cena says in the clip. "Respect the house as if it were your own and if your habits are leaving your towels on the floor, you need to change your habits and respect ours. Formal dinner once every week -- usually on Wednesday. Every morning, we will have morning coffee together. We will have an evening fire outside. If you guys are gonna be up late, please text me or tell me."

After Bryan retired from WWE, Brie also called it a career following WrestleMania 32 in April. She's focusing on trying to start a family with Bryan.

"The Beard" now serves as general manager of "SmackDown Live" in this post-WWE Draft era, and he'll be a major part of SummerSlam alongside Blue Brand commissioner Shane McMahon this Sunday at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.
