Tonight at 9:00 p.m. ET, the Calagary Flames (6-8-2, 14 points) and the Colorado Avalanche (12-2-0, 24 points) square off live from the Pepsi Center in Colorado in the first of three meetings. The game can be live streamed here. Calgary fans can hear all of the bone-crunching action by tuning into CFAC 960 The Fan while Colorado fans can do the same on KRWZ-AM 950.

The Flames are coming off of a 3-2 loss to the St. Louis Blues Thursday night.

"We made it tough on ourselves. [We gave up] a goal so early in the game ... but we never quit," Flames coach Bob Hartley told NHL.com. "I felt that we got back in the game, maybe too little, too late, but at least we showed lots of character and the guys never quit."

Colorado suffered a rare loss to the Nashville Predators 6-4 on Wednesday, but first-year coach Patrick Roy was happy with the way his team practiced Thursday.

"I liked the way we practiced today. We're not too high after a win, we're not too low after a loss. I thought the guys were better focused. I thought our guys practiced with a purpose, and we applied our details a lot better today maybe than the last few practices," Roy said via NHL.com.

Colorado has had a dominant start to the year and has been led by Matt Duchene who has 10 goals and seven assists to lead the team with 17 points while Paul Stastny (five goals, six assists) and Gabriel Landeskog (five goals, six assists) each have 11 points and P.A. Parenteau has five tallies and five helpers for 10 points.

Calgary, meanwhile, has been paced by Jiri Hudler, who has a team-high 11 assists and 17 ponts while adding six goals. Sean Monahan (7-4-11) and Dennis Wideman (1-9-10) have also contributed for Calgary.

The Avalanche boast a great 1-2 punch in net as Semyon Varlamov is 8-2-0 with a 2.10 GAA and a .933 save percentage while Jean-Sebastien Giguere is a perfect 4-0-0 with a dazzling 0.75 GAA and a .977 save percentage. Joey MacDonald (3-3-1, 3.17 GAA, .885 save percentage) and Karri Ramo (2-3-1, 3.49 GAA, .888 save percentage) have led the way for the Flames.

The Flames and Avalanche are both coming off losses and will look to win when the lights come on at the Pepsi Center tonight.
