Many boxing fans are hoping that they can soon play the likes of Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather in a video game. But based on recent reports, there might be light at the end with possible return of Fight Night on next-gen consoles.

The Fight Night franchise was well reputed in the market when it came last time around in previous generation consoles. The last game in the franchise was released way back in 2011, when the PS3 was still getting loads of attention from the users.

Coming to 2017, there are still no confirmed reports about the release of new Fight Night game. Fans are eager to know if developers are still planning to create a boxing game featuring some of the biggest boxing stars from past and present like in previous editions.

Recent rumors about the new Fight Night game got surfaced after a mysterious page on Electronics Art website was discovered, as reported by Playstation Universe. The page shows Fight Night game for PS4 which could be a clear hint that the EA is developing the next iteration for PS4.

The report also added that there has been a meta description, "fight-night, games for PlayStation 4 by Electronic Art the leader in interactive entertainment." However, other news comes up that this should be taken with a grain of salt until EA gives a statement on an official basis on its page.

One of the main reasons that EA discontinued the Fight Night franchise is their decision to make Ultimate Fighting Champsionship video game. UFC was a good draw when they made but couldn't get into the sales very nicely.

UFC and UFC 2 were disliked quite largely in contradiction to last Fight Night game. There were loads of praises for Fight Night champion from likes of IGN and Gamespot because of the high graphics quality combined with wide content and excellent punch control. If EA base their decision on ratings, then switching to Fight Night games won't be a huge surprise.
