NBA Rumors: Brooklyn Nets Star Guard Jeremy Lin Uncertain Of Return; All-Star Appearance Still A Possibility [VIDEO]

Since the Nets franchise moved in to Brooklyn, the team reached the playoffs in 3 out of their 4 seasons so far. In those times, they have a combined 152-176 win-loss record. And the only time that they failed to reach the playoffs as Brooklyn Nets was last season.

This season, it looks like they will not make the playoffs once again. With an 8-29 win-loss record, they are the worst team in the Eastern Conference and lost seven straight games.

Perhaps one of the biggest reasons for the Nets poor performance this season is that their starting point guard Jeremy Lin was still not in uniform. Lin injured his left hamstring and has not played since then. And according to International Business Times, there is still no timetable to his return.

Lin signed a three-year, $38 million last offseason with the Brooklyn Nets. And this season, he only played 12 games and averages 13.9 points, 3.3 rebounds and 5.8 assists.

But despite being injured, he was surprisingly included in the top 10 guards in the East when the NBA released the first fan returns for the NBA All-Star 2017 voting, as per NBA. Lin received a total of 59,562 votes.

Although a little bit surprising, perhaps many NBA fans still remembered what Lin had done in February 2012. He was battling for his NBA life in New York Knicks. And when he was given a chance to play long minutes, he didn't disappoint.

In his 12 starts before the All-Star game in 2012, he averages 22.5 points and 8.7 assists as the Knicks went on to have a record of 9-3 during that stretch. He played in the Rising Star Challenge during the NBA All-Star Weekend that year. And some media outlets like the Los Angeles Times and USA Today said that Lin deserves to play in the All-Star.

Linsanity became a worldwide hit. It was so popular to the point that former NBA Commissioner David Stern said that there was no player that he is aware of who created the interest and frenzy in a short period of time in any sport like Jeremy Lin has. Lin also became a cover of Sports Illustrated and Time Magazine.

As of this moment, it is unclear when will Lin come back from a hamstring injury. It is also uncertain if ever make it to the All-Star selection. But Lin stays positive despite the injury, as further discussed by the report.
