Pittsburgh Steelers Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger Calls Trade Rumor Report a 'BS Story' and 'Totally False'

Ben Roethlisberger won his 100^th game as a Pittsburgh Steeler on Sunday. He intends to win a lot more in the Steel City.

After the Steelers' 23-10 win over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, the Pittsburgh quarterback shot down with a vengeance a report by the NFL Network earlier in the day saying he was "incredibly frustrated" with the Steelers' recent losing trend and intended to ask for a trade after the season.

"It is one of the most BS stories that I've ever heard of,'' Roethlisberger told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. "I've always said that I want to be a Steeler for life. I love it here. I'm happy here. I don't want to go anywhere. No one in my family, our camp, agents, no one has ever said anything about that. Wherever this was made up from is totally false."

NFL Network reported Sunday that Roethlisberger, who has won a pair of Super Bowls with the Steelers is "incredibly frustrated" with the direction the organization. It added that Roethlisberger has been at odds with offensive coordinator Todd Haley and has a problem with all of the Steelers' offensive coaches.

The original report also stated that the Steelers had listened to offers for Roethlisberger in the offseason but refuses to let their franchise quarterback go without getting what they would consider another franchise quarterback in return.

The New York Post cited a statement in a tweet from Roethlisberger's agent, Ryan Tollner, after the NFL Network report, refuting the story as well.

"Ian Rapoport's apparent sources seem to be guessing what Ben feels about the Steelers and being traded," Tollner said. "This is completely wrong and inaccurate. Ben has always said he wants to play his entire career for the Steelers, and his roots are set firmly in Pittsburgh. He has a lot left in the tank & is 100% committed to winning more championships with the Steelers."

According to the Post, Steelers president Art Rooney II also denied any involvement in moving Roethlisberger in a statement posted on the team's website.

"Contrary to erroneous reports, the Pittsburgh Steelers have not explored trading quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and have no plans to do so," Rooney said.
