Serena Williams will be a bride soon. The tennis player talked about her engagement recently during a press conference after she won her match on January 17, Tuesday at the Australian Open 2017 in Melbourne.
Serena was asked how she feels any different after getting engaged to her boyfriend Alexis Ohanian and her reply was, "It feels good," usmagazine reported.
But keeping the love life aside she is focussed on the ball for now. "I really haven't thought about it too much, because I wasn't even really gonna think about it until after the tournament," she explained. "So, I just keep saying, 'February, I'll start looking at the bigger picture of my life.' But right now, I'm just so focused that this is all I can think about." "I didn't come here to lose in the first round, or the second round, or at all," Williams said of her performance. "If I can play the way I've been practising, it will be fine."
Also, her boyfriend seems to be in complete support of her and giving her enough time before getting married. The Reddit co-founder was found cheering for her love during her match against Swiss player Belinda Bencic. Serena won the match by 6-4, 6-3 at day 2 of the tournament at Rod Laver Arena.
The news came about Serena being engaged to the Reddit Co-founder on December 29. Ohanian took her to Rome where he proposed her and Williams said yes. After the fans asked to her to show the wedding ring, Williams posted a photo on social media with her engagement ring on January 5 with a funny caption 'Engagement shoe game' for her black and white Nike sneakers, dailymail reported.
The 21 time Grand Slam winner is all set to conquer Australian Open with her sister Venus. Williams's next match is yet to be scheduled.
