NBA News: LeBron Decision On Olympics 2020 Depends On Gregg Popovich's Coaching

LeBron James is still indecisive whether he will be playing in the next Olympics in 2020 held in Tokyo. He hasn't made anything public yet but has given a hint to play for new USA Basketball coach Gregg Popovich who would be a big consideration behind any decision.

James has stated on last Thursday Popovich as the greatest coach of all time. "It factors a lot," James said. "I've said that before. He's just a great mastermind of the game of basketball" as reported in abcnews.

"Team USA is in good hands," James to the Associate Press during the time when Popovich was hired as head coach by USA Basketball. LeBron has won Gold twice at the Olympics in the year 2008 and 2012 along with a Bronze at 2004. And during 2004 Popovich was the assistant for team USA. In the year 2015 Popovich succeeded Shepherd and took over as the coach of senior national men's team.

James would be turning 35 when the Tokyo Olympics will occur. James at present is at number 3 in the list of leading scorers in USA Basketball history just behind Carmelo Anthony and Kevin Durant. James did not appear in the Olympics 2016 after his sixth consecutive run in the finals.

Popovich who is 67 years old is taking over Duke's former coach Mike Krzyzewski who helped his team USA to win gold medals in 2008, 2012 and 2016. He has won five times NBA championship as a head coach. He is also amongst those 9 coaches who has coached in over 1,000 wins as reported in Cleveland.

James on being asked about if he was also jealous of players like Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili who had played under one coach Popovich, "Just never really thought about it. If it would've happened it would've been a pretty cool thing, but it hasn't, and I really haven't put too much into it."
