Sony Xperia X Gets New Concept Firmware Update With Battery Saver Mode

Sony has just released a new experimental update for the Xperia X concept firmware which now brings the build number to 38.3.A.0.83. Sony attempts to add and improve as many features as possible before it releases another Android Nought update to compatible smartphones

. At present, the Sony Xperia X runs Android Marshmallow 6.0.1, but Sony has planned upgrade of Xperia X to Android Nought v7.0 It's worth noting that this experimental track is only meant to test new features that Sony plans to bring to its Xperia smartphones.

 As mentioned in GSM Arena, The main highlight is that it brings a new feature called "Battery Saver". Sony might be aiming to bring some of the features left behind with STAMINA mode which was its own battery saving solution.

Sony in its blog writes,"users have been asking for the STAMINA mode found in original Xperia firmware, which had been replaced by the release of Doze mode which is found natively in Android Marshmallow."

Battery Saver will give numerous options to extend phone's battery life when the phone gets below a certain percentage. The User can choose any level below 50 percent. The new update is somewhat fulfilling the user's wishes.

As stated in Phone Arena, Battery Saver mode provides a couple of options that will help to squeeze as much time as possible from smartphones. The User can choose to turn off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, auto-sync and can adjust brightness level & screen timeout. The option can be found in Settings>Battery>Battery Saver.

Sony has also added new camera quick settings and camera app shortcuts in Xperia X's latest update. By using camera app shortcuts user can quickly take a selfie picture and a video.

Sony has fixed the problem of blinking camera in low light condition and has also added VoLTE support for additional carriers: Vodafone in Spain and Three/EE in the United Kingdom.
