Darrelle Revis Rips Jets Fans: Bucs CB Tells 'Bitter Jets Fans To 'Let It Go'

Tampa Bay Buccaneers cornerback Darrelle Revis picked up his first victory with his new team, but it was his old team that he was discussing at the end of the game. Revis told the New York Post that fans of the New York Jets--the team that traded him to the Bucs this past offseason--were "bitter" and needed to "let it go."

According to The New York Post, Revis said he received death threats on Twitter from Jets fans and that he believes they need to let it go and move on now that he's a member of the Buccaneers.

"You've got to have a backbone, because guys are saying, 'F-k you!' and 'I want to kill you!' It's crazy, but I've been getting death threats from them since my first holdout [in 2010]. It's just bitter Jets fans," Revis said, according to The New York Post.

Revis signed an extension with the Buccaneers after the trade, and the cornerback and a fan on Twitter got into it last week when Revis lashed out at the fan after the fan asked him if he'd rather have his current $16 million deal with the Buccaneers, who at the time were 0-7, or a $12 million deal with the Jets (5-4). Revis said that he'd rather have the extra $4 million to play on a winless team than to be on a successful team and make less money.

Revis said he harbors no ill-will towards the Jets organization, but he is angry at fans that "can't let it go" that he's no longer a member of the team and blame him for it.

"They're still not over the fact that I'm not there no more, and they give me crap all the time on Twitter," Revis said per The New York Post . "If they would understand the business of it and understand what happened, then maybe they would know and maybe they would quit trying to point the finger at me. That's where it is."

Revis sealed the Buccaneers (1-7) first victory of the season Sunday with an interception against Miami Dolphins (4-5) quarterback Ryan Tannehill with less than two minutes to play.

Revis, who spent six seasons with the Jets, has two interceptions with Tampa Bay this season and said he has no regrets about being a member of the Buccaneers.

"No regrets at all," Revis told the paper. "Definitely no regrets. I'm fine. I'm going to make plays regardless of where I play. It doesn't matter where I play."
