Good news for "Game of Thrones" fans, George R.R. Martin is working on a new short story which takes place within the realm of the series. He announced that story will be titled "The Sons of the Dragon".
Author George R.R. Martin previously said that he was working on a short story. As written in Express, "The Sons of Dragon" would be released on October 10, as part of a collection called "Book of Swords", edited by Gardner Dozois.
The People who liked The Princess and the Queen in Dangerous Women and the Rogue Prince in Rogues will also like this one, Martin shared on his blog. It is same but a history rather than a traditional narrative. This time, there is a lot of telling and little showing.
He added that the readers who are fascinated by the politics of Westeros should enjoy it. He explains that "The Sons of the Dragon" chronicles the reigns of the second and third Targaryen kings, Aenys I and Maegor the Cruel, along with their mothers, wives, sisters, children, friends, enemies, and rivals.
Martin hopes that "The Winds of Winter" will be released this year. He reported that he needed to set the record straight because the internet is rife with rumors and false reports and misinformation. The Sons of the Dragon will be set in the A Song of Ice and Fire world but with the different timeline from the "Game of Thrones" series.
According to Cinema Blend, "Game of Thrones" season 7 will be released before "The Sons of Dragon" becomes available. The book will be available in both hardcover and ebook format.
This time the seventh season will come later than usual and there will be less number of episodes as well. But the show has officially outdated the books, so even book readers will be curious because this time they don't know what's going to happen next.
