Goldberg is one wrestling superstar that made a successful comeback in the WWE ring last year. Now, recent reports are saying that after winning the WWE Universal Championship at Fastlane he'll face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 33. Aside from that, WWE legend Kurt Angle are rumored to return also and would like to face a worthy opponent.
Angle was once a six-time WWF/WWE world champion, one-time United States Champion, one-time Intercontinental Champion, and one-time WWE Tag Team Champion from 1998 till 2006. But in August 2006, he asked to be released and quit due health reason. But now, many fans are eager to see him again in the WWE ring just like Goldberg did.
On the other hand, Goldberg made a surprising comeback last year by beating Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series in just 1-minute, 24-seconds. Then he was one of the entrants in the recently concluded Royal Rumble match but was eventually eliminated by The Undertaker. But his loss doesn't mean his popularity and appeal to the WWE universe is gone as he is set to appear on the Grandest Stage of Them All.
According to CBSSports, the anticipated rematch between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar will happen at WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida after the former accepted the challenge of The Beast Incarnate. But before that match, Goldberg will face Kevin Owens at Fastlane for the WWE Universal Championship.
And rumors are saying that he will steal the title to KO that paves the way for a title match with Lesnar at WrestleMania. And if this truly happens, WWE fans will once more be treated to a blockbuster match between two highly decorated superstars and hopefully this time it will not be a 1-minute affair.
Meanwhile, Wrestlezone also reported that Kurt Angle was also rumored to have his comeback anytime this year. The 48-year old wrestler was surprised he got a call from Triple H informing that he'll be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. But aside from being inducted, there are talks that he will step again in the ring and fight for one last time.
In a recent interview, Angle didn't confirm that he will be back in the WWE ring but when asked whom he wants to face in the event he'll be fighting, he chooses Roman Reigns as a worthy opponent. It is also not clear when or what WWE event Angle will be appearing but this is surely thrilling to see.
