Even After Shaky Performance Barcelona Reaches Copa Del Rey Finals

Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez together once again help Barcelona to reach the finals of Copa del Rey. Because of some late fight back by Atletico Madrid, the match ended in 1-1 draw. Barcelona advanced to the finals for the fourth consecutive time by an aggregate score of 3-2.

The Uruguay striker Luis Suarez scored just before the 2 minutes to half-time on a rebound shot by Messi will miss the finals for his second booking that came in the 90th minute of the match which helped his team to go through the finals on Tuesday. "We did what we needed to do to reach the final and with hard work we got there," Suarez said and talking about the red card he added: "The sending-off makes me laugh because it seems to be what the referee wanted" as reported in The Himalayan Times.

The roles were reversed for the Barcelona players as they were reduced to nine men as Sergi Roberto was the first player who was sent off after receiving his second yellow card when more than half hour was left on the play. Even Atletico's Yannick Carrasco was sent off for receiving two yellow cards.

Antoine Griezmann also had a goal which was disallowed for offside when Atletico was having the number's advantage for the players on the field. Lionel Messi also missed a shot on a brilliant free kick that went on to hit the poles during the second half.

Barcelona will be facing Alaves who won against Celta Vigo by 1-0 in the semifinal on Wednesday. Alaves have stunned Barcelona with a 2-1 win at Camp Nou during the third round of La Liga matches and they will meet once again on Saturday as reported by ESPN.

Barcelona has won Spain's domestic cup from the last two occasions and they hold a record of total 28 Copa del Rey trophies.
