2017 Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS: Specs, Price, Review & Expected Release Date

The Indo-Japanese carmaker, Maruti Suzuki India Limited may launch its new Baleno RS in India in February 2017.  Once Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS is launched, it will compete with its close rivals including Volkswagen Polo GT TSI and Fiat Purto Abarth. And the Baleno RS will be available at premium Nexa dealerships across the country. 

As written in India today, 2017 Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS is configured with 998 ccs, 3-cylinder, 1.0-liter Boosterjet petrol engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission that releases 100bhp in a 5,500 rpm and 150 Nm torque between 1,700 and 4,500 rpm. This vehicle will have a curb weight of 950 kg, which is lighter compared to the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI that is 1109 kg.  

Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS will have measurements of 1,745 mm width, 3,995 mm length, 1,510 mm height, 2,520 mm wheelbase, 114 mm ground space, fuel limit of 37 liters and this performance car will be also equipped with disc brakes on both front and rear axles

The Exterior of Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS will have all the features offered in the top-end Baleno, including projector headlamps with LED taillights, Bi-xenon automatic headlamps with LED daytime running lights. For achieving better performance, the hatchback will likewise get the suspension bumpers and sensing rain wipers, as per Carwale.

The Interior of Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS may come up with a revised instrument panel, new upholstery for seats, and new steering. It is a 5 seater car that has sufficient luggage area (339-litres) for carrying weekend bags. 

And the other key features include a SmartPlay infotainment system with Bluetooth, dual airbags, AppleCarPlay and Navigation, reverse camera and parking sensors, climate control, and engine start-stop button etc.

The Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS is available at a starting price of $14,888 which will take on the Volkswagen GT TSI. In India, Baleno RS prices are estimated to fall between Rs 8.5 lakh to Rs. 9 lakh (ex-showroom).
