UFC 210: Daniel Cormier, Anthony Johnson 2 Are Set For Light Heavyweight Title Match

This is a good time for the fans of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) as well as the fans of Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson. Many people were waiting for the fight between Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson, and now the waiting time is finally over as it is officially scheduled now.

According to the Mirror, the long awaited match between Daniel Cormier, the light heavyweight champion, and highly ranked contender Anthony Johnson is scheduled for UFC 210 in Buffalo on 8 April 2017. Buffalo is situated in New York, just a short distance from Canada and United States border.

Before UFC 210, the fighters were due to face each other at UFC 206 in Toronto which was scheduled last month only, but Daniel Cormier withdrew from the fight as he suffered from the partially torn groin. He withdrew himself from the match just a few weeks before the match.

Daily Mail reported that this will be the second front to the front collision between the pair after UFC 187 in 2015. Cormier defeated Johnson in 2015 and won the vacant light heavyweight title. This year, when the pair is fighting for the second time, it is to be seen whether the history gets repeated if Daniel Cormier loses his light heavyweight title.

'I want to let the great fans that bought tickets for UFC 206 in Toronto that this one is for you,' Cormier told the media professionals. He added, 'Ninety-nine miles is as close as I could get to make it up to you. That was very important to me. Thank you for the support, and I'll see you in Buffalo.'

After Cormier's emphatic victory over Anthony Johnson at UFC 187 in the year 2015, the second match between the pair was a long awaited match. Therefore, the headline event of UFC 210 will cheer up the fans.

Cormier was able to defend his title by defeating Alexander Gustafson at UFC 192. Johnson, after losing to Cormier, was successful in accumulating a three-fight winning streak. The fight will be very much exciting as both the fighters are in their forms.
