'Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite' News, Features, Release Date And More; 'Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3' Completes The EVO 2017 Lineup [VIDEO]

The Marvel vs Capcom video game series is one of the most loved gameplay through the years. Good news for players of the game, Capcom is expected to release the new sequel of this video game the 'Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite' this year.

Marvel vs Capcom game is a series of crossover battle between Capcom video game characters and Marvel Comics superhero characters. Developed and published by Capcom, the popularity of the game came in 1996 when they first release the 'X-Men vs Street Fighter' in an arcade system which caught the interest of gamers back then.

Since then, Capcom has already released 6 more sequels of the game up to 2012 and the game was not only introduced in the arcade but was later launched on PlayStation and Xbox platforms. And with the big success of the video game series, the company again have something new to offer for its enthusiasts.

According to Digital Trends, after almost 5 years since the last installment was released, reports are saying that Capcom will unveil the 'Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite' this year and will come in PS4, XBOX One and PC platforms. So what new features will gamers expect?

Capcom already reveals the six new characters for the game, for Marvel it will be Iron Man, Captain America, and Captain Marvel while Capcom will be represented by Ryu, Mega Man X and Morrigan (Darkstalkers). But people can still expect the remaining mysterious characters to be disclosed by the company in the coming months.

Gameplay will also change, coming from a 3-versus-3 format the game will revert back to the 2-versus-2 setup. Capcom director of production Mike Evans explained that the switch was employed to make the game more user-friendly for casual players. The game will also have Cinematic Story with Training and Mission to challenge options too.

The report also says that Capcom will still use its in-house MT Framework engine to run the game though there are reports that it might also use the Unreal Engine 4, the engine that runs the 'Street Fighter V', but this is not verified right now. But fans will still have to wait more as 'Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite' will be launched in "late 2017".

On a separate report by Siliconera, 'Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3' makes it to the lineup of the Evolution Championship Series (EVO) 2017 beating out 'Pokkén Tournament' for the last place. The game was able to gather $71,690 total donation from fans who got to vote through the Make-A-Wish Foundation charity campaign.

Aside from 'Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3', other games that will be featured in EVO 2017 are 'Guilty Gear Xrd Rev 2', 'BlazBlue: Central Fiction', 'The King of Fighters XIV', 'Injustice 2', 'Tekken 7', 'Super Smash Bros. Melee', 'Street Fighter V' and 'Super Smash Bros.' for Wii U. EVO 2017 will be held at the Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, Nevada from July 14-16, 2017.
