Last year, Apple launched the second generation of Apple Watch with two models, Apple Watch Series 1 and Apple Watch Series 2. And now, recent reports revealed that the impending Apple Watch Series 3 will be the first one to feature such touchscreen.

TPK Holding, the manufacturer of the Apple Watch display panels, has struggled to meet Apple's demand for display panels and now looking for other ways. It will now focus on manufacturing 3D sensor-based touch panels for the Apple Watch Series 3 and will eventually stop the production of touch-on-lens solution that is being used so far.

On a separate report by Mac Rumors, the Apple Watch Series 3 will be showcased in the third quarter of 2017 and will enter production during the same period. The third-generation Apple Watch will have an improved battery life and will also have some performance enhancement.

The report also says that before the Apple Watch Series 3 models release, Apple already filed patents of concept that they want to include in an Apple Watch such as a heart rate identification system, modular bands, haptic feedback band, and a band with a built-in charger. Aside from these features, people is anticipating that Apple will also present new bands for the device.
