Vikings Season 5 News: Release Date And More Of The Series In Which Harald Dons A Crown [VIDEO]

The season 5 of Vikings is on its way, this will be the first season in which Ragnar (Travis Fimmell) won't be there. The details of upcoming season remain quite scarce, but the preview of this season suggests the fight for Ragnar's empty throne between the his sons.

A slight peek was released just after the conclusion of the previous season. The short clip shows Harald (Peter Franzen) was happy with a crown on his head. It also shows Floki discovering Iceland after being washed up ashore in a midst of vicious storm.

Fans those who have seen the preview of the season, crown on Harald's head is not a very good sign for Lagertha. This can also be recalled in the previous season too, Harald was longing to be a Lothbrok and wanted to rule Norway. The upcoming season is expected to that he and Lagertha will be going against each other and the Lagertha will have a slim chance of being a victor.

Aside from Harald, Heahmund will also be one of the antagonists next season but the story of his villainy hasn't yet being revealed. Since the preview of the upcoming season, Floki washed up on the shores of an unknown island, quite a few fans were quick to speculate that the island is actually Iceland. "Vikings" creator Michael Hirst also confirmed that the season 5 will feature Nordic island nation.

The season 4 of "Vikings" ended with the death of Sigurd Snake-in-the-Eye (David Lindstorm) when he was accidentally killed by his brother, the Boneless Ivar (Alex Hogh Andersen). Season 5 will explore Ivar's relationship with Bjorn (Alexander Ludwig) and how they will lead a war in the Viking world. The season 5 of "Vikings" still does not a premiere date but it is expected to be aired by November.
