Lamar Odom is confirming he is in talks with Los Angeles Clippers and could soon be re-upping with the team.
TMZ spoke with the 34-year-old Odom early Monday outside of LAX Airport and the former Sixth Man of the Year award winner told reporters that after meeting with coach Doc Rivers for more than two hours last week things have progressed to the point he has almost formally struck a deal with his former team.
It's a development not many would have predicted just a few short months ago as Odom's career seemed in ruins amid widespread rumors of his hanrdcore drug use and chronic marital discord with reality TV star Khloe Kardashian.
Over the summer, as many as three women stepped forward to claim they once had affairs with Odom and one self-professed drug dealer to the stars claims Odom was once spending upwards of $800 a day on crack and other drugs. Odom also faces DUI charges in a case that remains open and could result in jail time.
Things seemed to change for Odom over the last several weeks, as he has claimed to now be drug free and is rumored to be attending couple's counseling with Kardashian in hopes of saving their four year union.
Sources also tell TMZ Odom has resumed daily workouts and looks to be in excellent shape.
