Carl Edwards May Return To Racing as Substitute Driver If the Situation Needs It

Carl Edwards made waves in the racing world after he announced his retirement from the sport last Jan. 2017. However, he is more than willing to participate in a race as a substitute driver if the situation needs it. He was spotted at Concord Speedway together with his replacement Daniel Suarez.

He returned to the racetrack on Tuesday on casual clothes, giving assistance to Suarez. Carl Edwards is pretty satisfied with his retirement, spending more time in other avenues of his life. But right now, since his relationship with Subway is still on going, he will still be starring on their commercial also with Suarez, ESPN reported.

Carl Edwards will also help Suarez for the preparations in NASCAR Cup at Atlanta Motor Speedway. Though the place has been very nostalgic for the retired racer because some of his greatest milestones happened on this race track, it seems like he won't be doing another major race of his own anytime soon.

He said on a statement, "The chance to go win the Daytona 500 is something that is really cool, but that's one of the things that I gave up when I made the decision. But there is a lot of gain, too." Carl Edwards doesn't regret his decision at all.

However, as reported by NESN, Carl Edwards is staying fit an engaged as the team will let him, and by any chance that somebody needs a driver for something, he will without a doubt lend a hand to them. He has been giving the impression that his retirement doesn't mean he wouldn't be living an active life - on the contrary he is more engaged on many things more than ever.

On a separate occasion, Carl Edwards, being a pilot, spent his time to provide personal services deal with Cessna. He helps fly people who have health issues that can't make a commercial flight on usual airline services.
