NBA News: Jeremy Lin Scores 17 Points in Nets Win Over the Kings to End 16-Game Losing Streak

The Brooklyn Nets are back on the winning track after ending their 16-game losing streak on Wednesday against the Sacramento Kings. Jeremy Lin started his third game in a row since coming back from a hamstring injury and he was vital in getting the Nets' tenth win of the season.

Lin hit a pair of free throws with 11.7 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter to ice the game. He tallied 17 points, two rebounds and five assists in just 19 minutes, per NBA.com. He played an additional four minutes in the 109-100 win after being limited to just 14 minutes in his first two games back from injury.

Brook Lopez scored 24 points and grabbed eight boards to lead the Nets. He also became the second player in franchise history to score 10,000 points, as reported by Newsday. Jeremy Lin assisted Lopez's 10,000th point in the 4:17 mark of the second quarter.

The Nets are on an eight-game road trip that starter last Thursday against the Denver Nuggets. They lost that game and followed it up with another defeat on Saturday at the hands of the Golden State Warriors.

According to the New York Post, Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson held a two-day training camp to help the team gain more chemistry heading into the remainder of the road trip. Jeremy Lin even believed that it will be the turning point of the Nets season.

"We barely get any time to practice, so this is going to be really big for us to get back to our fundamentals, our principles. And I think if we do it right, hopefully, it can be somewhat of a turning point in terms of turning things around and getting things headed in the right direction," Lin said.

And Jeremy Lin was right as the Nets snapped their 16-game losing skid and they head to their next game with some momentum. The Nets travel to Salt Lake City next as the face the Utah Jazz on Friday. Before returning home to Brooklyn on March 12, the Nets also have stops in Portland, Memphis, Atlanta and Dallas.
