The ongoing Jonathan Martin, Richie Incognito bullying and hazing scandal in the Miami Dolphins locker room could soon creep beyond those parameters to involve team staff members and even their spouses.
According to NationalFootballPost.com, Incognito and at least one other teammate openly mocked the ethnic heritage of at least one other staff member and even made crude sex jokes about the staffer's wife.
NationalFootballPost adds Incognito would sometimes dress in garb from the staff member's culture and then make profane jokes about his ethnicity. A second source told the website at least one other player joined in on the antics, creating an extremely uncomfortable environment for the staffer.
NationalFootballPost adds that all Incognito's taunting didn't end there and in some ways even became worse as he allegedly made reference to the staffer's wife having had sexual relationships with several members of the team. The website adds much of the taunting was done in full view of other team staff members and was allowed to go on without being curtailed by team management or the front office.
According to NationalFootballPost, the failure by top team officials to monitor the situation could create further legal problems for Dolphins management. The NFL is currently investigating the matter and high-powered attorney Ted Wells has been appointed by the league to conduct the inquiry.
