Floyd Mayweather – Conor McGregor Fight News: T-Mobile Arena Reserves June 10 For Potential Mega Fight

It appears fans aren’t the only ones anticipating the potential Floyd Mayweather – Conor Mayweather fight, as the T-Mobile Arena has reportedly reserved June 10 for the prospected mega fight between the undefeated boxer and the UFC lightweight champion. The report follows Mayweather’s pronouncements that he is officially out of retirement for Conor McGregor.

Though as pointed out by FloCombat, who first reported that the T-Mobile Arena has reserved the date, this does not mean that the potential massive event featuring Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor is guaranteed to happen in the largest arena in the fight capital of the world. As noted by The Score, it is common practice for arenas to hold dates in anticipation of major potential events regardless of whether they end up occurring.

The reported development follows Floyd Mayweather’s announcement over the weekend that he’s coming out of retirement to fight Conor McGregor. “I don’t want to hear no more excuses about the money, about the UFC – sign the paper with the UFC so you can fight me in June,” Mayweather told a crowd during his United Kingdom tour. Mayweather, though, did not elaborate on what paperwork McGregor needed to sign with the UFC.

The string of developments adds more fuel to a story that won’t die. Talks of a potential fight between one of the best boxers of all time and the mixed martial arts supernova have been persisting since last year, when Conor McGregor transcended the sport of MMA. The back and forth smack talk between the Irishman and Floyd Mayweather has consistently stirred up fan interest in what amounts to a brilliant marketing campaign.

UFC president Dana White, after initially offering both Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor 25 million each for the fight, has repeatedly denied that there have been negotiations to make the fight happen. There has been no official response from either the UFC or Conor McGregor about Mayweather’s announcement.
