Now York Knicks Head Coach Jeff Hornacek Might Be On His Way Out Of The Team As Phil Jackson Sending Feelers

Carmelo Anthony had a taste of how to feels to be under the microscope of the Knicks management, especially under the eyes of the organization's president Phil Jackson. After their all-star forward, reports are saying that it is now New York Knicks coach Jeff Hornacek who's been under their radar.

New Jersey News reported that Jackson is on the verge of firing the former shooting guard who last played for the Utah Jazz. The 53-year old Hornacek already admitted that clinching the playoff spot would be a different task to do, given that they are currently 6 games back from the 8th seeded team at the Eastern Conference standings which is the Milwaukee Bucks.

On the reports from NY Daily News, with the team failing to qualify to the playoffs, the number of days that Hornacek will be running the team might also be numbered. A separate article said a series of interesting thing are happening off-the-court to the team, including Jackson himself taking over the team's practice Thursday and the team's 120-112 loss to the cellar-dwelling Brooklyn Nets might be indicators that will send Hornacek packing. That, however, could change if the team will show some progress in their last remaining games of the regular season.

Despite the downward slope that the team is going through, owner James Dolan is still supporting Jackson, despite the incidents that ht team had. Some of them could be the hiring of the team's fourth coach in three seasons, with Mike Woodson still in charge of the team when Jackson arrived, the team had Derek Fisher, Kurt Rambis and Hornacek.

And of course, the Carmelo Anthony giveaway that did not materialize and the infamous Charles Oakley incident that led to the Knicks legend being banned from entering the Madison Square Garden and later taking it back.

At least, with the team drafting Kristaps Porzingis before a hostile NYK crowd and Willy Hernangomez starting to become a Marc Gasol prototype, they have a couple of guys the team can build around.
