Life isn't bad for Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio these days.
Despite his early season shooting slump, he's averaging career highs in assists, rebounds and steals on a Timberwolves team that could contend for a playoff spot for the first time in 10 years.
Oh, and he got to take a picture with singer Selena Gomez that he showed off on his Twitter account.
USATODAY Sports' For The Win posted a photo of Rubio and Gomez, with Gomez holding Rubio's No. 9 jersey.
Rubio tweeted simply, "Look who I saw at Target Center. @selenagomez"
Of course, the photo is sure to start the rumor mill between the respective stars. USA TODAY Sports addresses the issue - in a way.
"To be fair, Rubio was probably just going to the Target Center to pick something up and just took the opportunity for a quick photo op," For The Win reported." But for those who want to take this photo to somehow mean way more than that, he definitely wouldn't be the first NBA player to fall for a former teen star."
For The Win referred to a Sept. 12 article about a budding romance between Detroit Pistons center Andre Drummond and former iCarly star Jennette McCurdy that began on Instagram and Twitter before they finally met in person.
Meanwhile HollywoodLife.com recently reported that Gomez is disgusted by the behavior of former boyfriend Justin Bieber in the wake of a report that he spent more than $10,000 on strippers at his house party on Nov. 6.
"Selena is disgusted with the way Justin has been acting - or rather, acting out! She thinks Justin is a time bomb waiting to explode. She saw it coming and is relieved that she's out of the relationship, but also she's very sad for him. Very sad," a source told HollywoodLife.com.
So if Rubio is interested in Gomez, now may be the perfect time to gauge her interest.
