'Overwatch' Updates: Tips On Playing Orisa, Maximise Her Abilities With These Pointers

After a lengthy reveal and testing phase, Orisa is officially released and part of the roster. But just like all new characters in "Overwatch", it may take a while before players can use her abilities to its fullest extent. In the meantime, here are some tips to get you started.

Orisa is a tank that has a similar role to Reinhardt in that she is designed to take and absorb damage. According to VG247 ability to deploy protective barriers and mitigate various physical effects makes her the team's defensive anchor in "Overwatch."

But what sets her apart from Reinhardt is her offensive capabilities. Her fusion driver has the longest range of all the weapons of tanks in "Overwatch." It's capable of dealing a steady stream of damage at a decent range.

Meanwhile, her other abilities can both contribute offensively and defensively, depending on its use. Halt is her alternate fire which can draw opponents to its explosion; perfect for pushing players off the ledge. Protective barrier and Fortify allows Orisa to protect herself and her teammates. And lastly her ultimate allows her to boost her teammates' damage that are in range. All in all, her strengths give her well-rounded abilities that can contribute in several aspects of "Overwatch."

Then again like all other "Overwatch" heroes, everyone has their weaknesses including Orisa. First off, while her fusion driver has decent range, it's mostly effective in short to medium range fire as longer distances severely affect its accuracy due to its bullet spread. The protective barrier, on the other hand, can only be effective in small and tight spaces and is weaker than Reinhardt's shield. Orisas also slow especially when firing which makes her an easy target. Lastly unlike Reinhardt, she might struggle as the team's solo tank.

Orisa is still relatively a new character in "Overwatch." So it might take a while before players can figure out how to play her. Even professional players are having difficulty using her. It's inevitable that players will have her as part of their hero rotation but it will take some practice.
