NFL News: New Orleans Saints Interested In Johnny Manziel

Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel has been out of the NFL for 2 yrs. Off-court troubles have led to Johnny Manziel being released, suspended by the NFL for four games and being dropped by his agency. Instead of trying to rebuild his image and get back in the NFL, Johnny Manziel just continued to party on. The past few months, however, have been different. Johnny Manziel seems to be serious in making an NFL comeback as he's seen frequently practicing and working out his game. Now, it seems all that hard work has finally beginning to bear some fruit as one team is reportedly interested in signing Johnny Manziel.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the New Orleans are said to be interested in signing former Cleveland Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel, as reported by the NFL news. Ian Rapoport said that the New Orleans Saints head coach Sean Payton met with Johnny Manziel at breakfast during Super Bowl week last January and together they discussed a possible return to the NFL for Johnny Manziel.

Johnny Manziel, 24, has kept a low-profile and is currently training for a possible return to the NFL. Johnny Manziel last played for the Cleveland Browns in the 2015 season.

Johnny Manziel was a first-round draft pick of the Cleveland Browns in the 2015 NFL Draft. In 10 games during the 2015 season, including six games as a starter, Johnny Manziel compiled numbers for the Cleveland Browns of 57.8 completion percentage, 1,500 yards, seven touchdowns, five interceptions and 230 rushing yards.

Off-the-field issues and controversy, including drug and alcohol abuse, forced Johnny Manziel to sit out the entire 2016 season. Johnny Manziel's agent, Erik Burkhardt, and his agency LRMR, dropped him, via a report by CBS Sports. One month later, Johnny Manziel was again involved in controversy as he was investigated by the Dallas police department for an alleged domestic violence incident.
