As Missouri makes its final push to the SEC championship game, James Franklin will be back in the starting lineup. With Franklin sidelined with a right shoulder injury the past few weeks, freshman Maty Mauk has kept the team on top of the SEC East by leading the team to three wins in four tries.
Prior to the injury, Franklin was 131-for-194 (67.5%) for 1,576 yards with 14 touchdowns and three interceptions and he rushed for 290 yards on 65 carries while reaching the endzone three times. Franklin makes his first start since being sidelined on Oct. 12.
"He looks really good. He looks just like he left off before the injury," coach Gary Pinkel told ESPN. "He's excited about being back, and the team is excited about getting him back too. I obviously want him to do really well. He had some adversity and battled through it and we are excited to have him in."
Ole Miss, meanwhile, enters play on a four-game winning streak and has topped 500 yards in each game, including a record-setting mark in yardage last week when the team totaled 751 yards in a 51-21 shelling of Troy last Saturday.
"With the schedule we have played, looking back on it, we have had our share of tests, and this will be another one Saturday night," coach Hugh Freeze told the school's official website, according to ESPN.
The Rebels will have running back Jeff Scott back to full health after he was sidelined for three games with a right thigh bruise but returned to action last week and rushed for 54 yards on 11 carries against Troy. On the season, Scott has rushed for 488 yards on 64 carries while adding two scores.
Quarterback Bo Wallace ranks fourth in the league with 266.4 passing yards per game and is 208-for-322 (64.6%) for 2,655 yards with 17 scores and five picks this season.
Missouri looks to keep its SEC championship hopes alive while the Rebels will look for their fifth win in a row when these teams take the field tonight.
