Microsoft Surface Phone New Patent Hints At Foldable Device, Might Get Released Soon

In the middle of reports of the Surface Phone's release date being delayed, several evidences are pointing to its approaching launch. Recently, a patent has been spotted which supports the reports about it being a foldable device.

As reported by Express, the latest patent describes a foldable device with a display made of multiple layers. Publication also claims that the device is having the panels curve at the edges that would allow the surface to create the illusion of a unified image.

This report solves one of the biggest problems about foldable devices, which is the gap. A device which can be folded in half will have an obstruction in the middle where the turning point is that will interfere with the image's wholeness. The curves will draw the light away from the gap, abolishing this hindrance.

It is natural to expect that such a revolutionary device will be under the Surface brand and will not be just another Windows 10 Phone. The report on Microsoft Surface Phone's foldable functionality is no news for most of its hardcore fans. The same publication has reported that a similar patent filing was seen back in January also.

Microsoft's Surface brand is reserved for two functions in one gadget, such as the Surface Book and the Surface Pro. It is explicable that the Surface Phone will be such a device as well.

According to Droid Report, Microsoft Surface Phone will showcase top-of-the-line specifications & features which includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 and up to 8GB of RAM. Meanwhile, Trusted Reviews has also shared the information that the next series of devices may go for a 500GB of internal storage.

Microsoft Surface Phone is likely to be unveiled anytime soon. Its official reveal might also come along with the other Surface devices Microsoft is speculated to be working on.
