Manny Pacquiao Should Fight Against Thurman Or Lomachenko Says Freddie Roach

Manny Pacquiao still hasn't gotten a fight scheduled this year. Fans of the fighting senator from the Philippines have long-awaited for an announcement of a new match but have so far been left disappointed. Two fights have already been canceled without any follow up for the next one. Although the boxer is still waiting for a name for his next fight, his coach, Freddie Roach has someone in mind to would challenge the Filipino boxer.

The long time mentor of Manny Pacquiao believes that his fighter should still compete with "legit" foes. When asked who he thinks Manny should face next, the coach said Ukrainian star Vasyl Lomachenko is an ideal opponent.

Lomachenko sports an impressive amateur record of 396-1 loss and is currently ranked 6th in Ring Magazine's pound-for-pound list. Manny Pacquiao on the other hand who was once atop the same list is now nowhere to be found. For Freddie Roach, he believes Manny Pacquiao can still compete with the best.

Lomachenko is the current WBO lightweight champion which will make the fight more appealing to Manny Pacquiao. As a professional, the Ukranian has 7 wins and 1 defeat. But for Pacquiao and Lomachenko to happen, Manny has to drop down in weight or fight in a catch weight bout.

It's notable that Roach left out the name of Jeff Horn in his ideal opponents for his prized pupil. The coach may think that Horn will not pose much of a challenge to Manny Pacquiao. Freddie only wants "legit" fights for his fighter and Horn is not among them.

However, for Bob Arum, Jeff in on the top of his priority list. The promoter already has an offer from Horn's representatives. The only problem is Manny Pacquiao seems disinterested with Jeff Horn.

Manny Pacquiao is at the end of his career and may retire after a few fights. Fighting top 10 opponents should be his priority as he only has a couple of fights left.
