MLB Rumors: Manny Machado Open to Playing For The New York Yankees

Manny Machado of the Baltimore Orioles is one of the many top players who will enter free agency after the 2018 MLB season. The New York Yankees are the favorites to land at least one big name player that winter and Machado is open to coming to the Bronx.

According to MLB Trade Rumors, the 2019 free agent class is one of the biggest in MLB history headlined by players like Manny Machado, Bryce Harper, Adam Jones, Ian Kinsler, Josh Donaldson and Jason Heyward. The free agent pitchers also have big names including Clayton Kershaw, Matt Harvey, Dallas Keuchel, David Price, Cody Allen, Kelvin Herrera and Zach Britton.

The Yankees are expected to land one of the big names because they will be a very interesting destination at that point. New York has rebuilt their roster and they have one of the best farm systems in baseball. They have also limited their spending but they still have the money to sign the first-ever $350 million player.

One of those players is third baseman Manny Machado, who is already a three-time All-Star at the age of 24 years old. He will be just 26 years old and entering his prime when he hits free agency in two years. In an interview with the New York Post, Machado revealed that he is open to joining the Yankees and he likes the idea of playing with Gary Sanchez and fellow free-agent-to-be Bryce Harper.

"I'm sure now when we go to New York, it's going to be crazy. I know there is talk about the future and maybe me, Gary and Harper being together. That's New York. That's what goes on. You never know what to expect in this game," Machado said.

However, Manny Machado noted that he loves playing in Baltimore and it would be difficult to move his family around. Machado was selected third overall by Orioles in the 2010 MLB Draft. He is already one of the best players in baseball at the moment despite his young age.
