New York owner James Dolan's angst over his team's 3-10 start has apparently spilled over into the Knicks VIP lounge and is now being directed at filmmaking superfan Woody Allen.
ProBasketballTalk.com reports Dolan has banned the Oscar-winning director from Suite 200, the VIP lounge the team reserves for celebrities at Madison Square Garden after he refused to do any promotion work for MSG Network or the Garden of Dreams Foundation.
The website reports Allen had been a regular in the suite, where models, pop stars and pro athletes gather before games and at halftime for free food and drinks. But no more, at least not in the case of Allen.
According to ProBasketball, the MSG Network, also owned by Dolan, recently bought the rights to several Allen films they plan to air and wanted him to come on the network and talk about what went into the making of them before hand. When the notoriously shy Allen declined, the Knicks reportedly told him maybe he shouldn't be seen in the VIP lounge anymore either.
No word on if the development will have any impact on Allen's long-expressed love of the Knicks to the point of keeping him away from any upcoming home games.
